As you know that we are approaching the final day of our Quran Academy class for this semester. We will be having a kids majlis this Thursday to commemorate the shahadat of Bibi Sayyidah (sa) iA.
For Level 1 we have been working on Surah al Fatiha which the kids will be reciting on the majlis day. I am sharing a pdf that we used in class for proper pronunciation of the letters. Also a video link that you can use for practice. Pls do make sure that the kids are practicing the surah at home.

Surah Fatiha

Brief overview of what was covered last week. We continued working on Surah al Fateha and reviewed connected letters by playing a 3 letter game and read the middle letter.
Huruf al Muqatta’at was introduced. We went through these letters, how they look, where they appear in the surah and the way of recitation with stretches. We practiced by listening to Qaida Nooraniya video, using huruf card and letters to form them and then finding them in the Quran.

This week we reviewed words with:

🌟Madd (6 harakah)
🌟Qalqalah
🌟Ghunnah
🌟Tanween

We talked about the high esteem of Sayyidah Fatimah Zahra (sa), her generosity, knowledge and love for her followers.

Homework:
For this week’s homework, we are sharing some words here. 

Our special thanks to Sh. Reza Hemyari who is a teacher to all of us as he embarks on his next journey.

I was amazed by the comments that I received from the students and would like to share them here for all the parents.

It is one thing to give a lecture but to explain the teachings of the Quran through play and practical means is something I wish we can learn more from him.

This week, we were blessed with the opportunity to practice reciting the short Zyaraah of Sayyidah Fatima Zahra(sa).

Next Thursday, Dec. 14th will be the last class of this semester (no class on Friday), and we will conclude with a Majlis conducted by the students of Quran Academy to commemorate Sayyidah Fatima Zahra(sa)’s martyrdom.Level 3 students will be reciting the Zyaarah posted. Please have the students practice the Zyaarah through the week and submit as follows:

Zyaarah Recitation Homework:
Slide 1- Sunday
Slide 2- Monday
Slide 3- Tuesday
Slide 4- Wednesday

Recite and send by 6:00 pm InshaAllah. They should practice the translation also, but no need to submit it.

This week we covered rules of stopping and pausing in the recitation.
Waqf Signs:
•م Must stop: Continuing is prohibited
•قلي Better to stop: Continuing is allowed
•∴ ∴ Stop at one point: not both
•ج Stop or Continue: Both are allowed
•صلي Better to continue: Stopping is allowed
•لا Don’t stop: Stopping is prohibited
•س Pause: Without taking a breath
Please guide the kids to be mindful of all the rules of recitation we have covered in class while reciting their homework.

Recite the verse and send it by 6:00 pm.

This week we covered Waqf rules.

– If the last letter has a short vowel, we read it with Sukoon.
– If the last letter has long Fatha, we read it as it is.
– If the last letter has Fathatain (double Fatha), we read it with long Fatha.
– If the last letter has kasratain or dhammatain, we read it with sukoon.

Message of the Quran:

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَتَطْمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۗ أَلَا بِذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ ٱلْقُلُوبُ ٢٨

“Those who believe and whose hearts find comfort in the remembrance of Allah. Surely in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find comfort.”
[Surah Ar-Ra’d 13:28]

This is the final list of recitation for Surah Yasin.

Everybody should practice with from the recitation of Qari Husary. Listen carefully to one verse and then recite along once with the Qari once.

Please practice your assigned page everyday starting tomorrow.

I will have a one-on-one session with each of the recitor on Whatsapp over the next week.

Heavy and Light ر :
When letter ر is tacked with a Fatha or a Dhammah, it will be pronounced as heavy. If it carries a Kasrah, ر will be pronounced light.

If ر has a sukoon, then look at the previous letter to see if they carry a Fatha, Dhammah, or Kasrah. If it carries a Kasrah, ر will be pronounced light otherwise heavy.
