Thursday we learned  ب و andف. We learned that the dot is below ب like we pass the soccer ball on the ground: ba… ball.

ف is going to a party. The party hat is the dot on top, and we learned the long straight line of ف is like a party blower.

Friday we learned ع، and we talked about how the sound of ع is different than the sounds of the letter A. We felt our throat and how it feels different when we make the sound ع, because  ع comes from the back of the throat. You can encourage your child to practice making the sound ع.

Ask your children to teach you the sound and stories. This will keep the letters fresh in their minds.

Friday we also practiced reading the word تمب and learned how the letters look different in the word. We found letters in the room, played letter games, learned about tauba (asking for forgiveness from Allah), and read a funny Noor Kids story about being patient, and how making wudu can help us stay calm when we are feeling angry.

Thursday we learned ل and ز. Ask your children to teach you the sound and the motions.

For ل we make the letter ل with our right hand pointer and thumb, then hold it up to our lips while laughing. Laughing ل.

For ز pretend a bee is flying around and lands on our head. The bee is the dot on top of ز. Buzzing ز. The children made a flying bee craft.

We also reviewed س ت ج and the children worked together to make their shapes on the ground.

Friday we learned م loves drinking milk Mmmm! And hopping ه hops to her house.

Friday we also started learning the correct pronunciation of Sura Ikhlas alhamdulillah 

As you know that we are approaching the final day of our Quran Academy class for this semester. We will be having a kids majlis this Thursday to commemorate the shahadat of Bibi Sayyidah (sa) iA.
For Level 1 we have been working on Surah al Fatiha which the kids will be reciting on the majlis day. I am sharing a pdf that we used in class for proper pronunciation of the letters. Also a video link that you can use for practice. Pls do make sure that the kids are practicing the surah at home.

Surah Fatiha

Brief overview of what was covered last week. We continued working on Surah al Fateha and reviewed connected letters by playing a 3 letter game and read the middle letter.
Huruf al Muqatta’at was introduced. We went through these letters, how they look, where they appear in the surah and the way of recitation with stretches. We practiced by listening to Qaida Nooraniya video, using huruf card and letters to form them and then finding them in the Quran.

Brief overview of what we covered last week. On Thur, we reviewed all the letters, sounds and worked on Surah Al Fatiha.
On Friday, along with the Surah, reviewing the letters and sounds, we learnt about the 7 disjoint letters. We saw how they connect from only one side through stories and tried pointing them out in different words. We also went through Surah Feel and tried recognizing all the letter in this surah.

Hope you all are doing well, iA. Brief update on what we’ve covered so far. We finished all the Arabic alphabets last week through different stories, activities and games. We will continue to review them in class each week. We will begin to work on joining letters and words in more detail (to be able to recognize the letters correctly) along with basic rules.

Days 8/9:
Starting with the salam song, sign language for saying salam ayah, we focused on Bismillah and the 2nd ayah of Surah Al Fateha.
Letters Daal for Du’a and Dhaal for Dhikr were introduced through the story Caterpillar’s Wish and how Allah listens to our du’as.
Letters Ra and Za were introduced through the story of Ramadan and Zakat.

Days 10/11:
After the arrival activities, reviewing all previous letters, Seen and Sheen were introduced through the story of Sajdah and Shukr.
Letters Sawd and Dawd were also introduced. Kids tried writing the letters and played bingo game as part of the reviewing activity.

Days 4/5:
Along with the salam song, sign language for saying salam ayah was introduced and we focused on Bismillah.
Kids used play dough to make the letters Alif, Ba, Ta while reviewing them and the letter Tha was introduced through the story of giving to gain thwaab and Jeem by listening to the story of Proohet Saleh and the Camel.
Kids were assigned pages for 15, 16, 19, 20, 23 and 24 for homework.

Day 6/7:
Last week we started the class with the salam song, the sign language for salam ayah and worked on Bismillah along with the next ayah of Surah al Fateha.
We reviewed all the previous letters and introduced the letters Ha for Hamd and Kha for Khair through stories. We played a memory game of good actions that we should do and a game of recognizing the letters when connected.
Individual assessment of kids were also done. Homework pages assigned 26, 27, 28, 31. Most of the homework pages are fun activities to help reinforce the letters. If for any reason your child doesn’t wanna do them, please don’t insist, we’ll work on them in class, iA

Last week we started the class with the salam song and focused on the pronunciation of Bismillah.
We reviewed the letters Alif and Ba, introduced the letter Ta and its forms through a story of Tauba. We did an object in class to show how tauba erases our mistakes.
Kids have being given pages 6,7, 11&12 as homework.

Day 1:
We started the class by introducing ourselves and sang the salam song. We listened to and recited Surah al Fateha focusing on Bismillah.
To understand why we should learn the Arabic letters, we did an activity where the kids found pictures from the lives of different prophets hidden in the Quran and how there are lessons in it for us to learn.
We worked on the letter Alif, it’s different forms and did an activity called ‘Find the Alif‘

Day 2:
The kids have started getting a hang of the salam song and enjoyed it, followed by Surah al Fateha focusing on Bismillah. We had a short skit through which kids understood the power of Bismillah. Letter Ba was introduced along with it’s forms and we tried to recognize the letter Ba in different words.
Kids took home a scrapbook page of their Arabic names!
